In Orange County, California, filers can use I-CAN! Legal to prepare and e-file the following sets of court forms: Small Claims, Eviction (Unlawful Detainer) and Name Change. We are working with the court to provide uploading and e-filing of more legal forms sets.

How to E-file your Small Claims or Eviction (Unlawful Detainer)
1. Create an account or log in to your account by clicking on the button at the top of the page.
2. Select the type of forms you want to create from the “Start New Forms” menu.
3. Once you are finished answering the questions about your forms, you will be offered the option to e-file, before the Print page. You will need to pay your filing fees and our e-filing fee of $14.95 online using our secure payment system (unless you file a Fee Waiver). You can pay with Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
4. After you review your forms, continue by clicking “Next” until you confirm that you are ready to e-file. Once you have e-filed you will see that your status is “Pending”.

How to Upload and E-file your Name Change or Eviction Defense (Unlawful Detainer Answer)
For Name Change, and Eviction Defense (Unlawful Detainer Answer) you can upload and e-file forms that you have prepared outside of I-CAN!. Your forms must be in PDF format in order to upload them.
1. Create an account or log in to your account by clicking on the button at the top of the page.
2. Click on the “Upload” tab.
3. Upload your forms (PDF format) and continue until you e-file them. When you e-file, you will need to pay your filing fees and our e-filing fee of $9.95 online using our secure payment system (if you have a Fee Waiver, the printing will be waived). You can pay with Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
4. Once you have e-filed you will see that your status is “Pending”.
You can also use I-CAN! to prepare your forms, save them to your computer and then upload and e-file them.
1. Create an account or log in to your account by clicking on the button at the top of the page.
2. Choose the type of forms you want to prepare from the “Start New Forms” menu.

4. On the Print page, you will be instructed to save your completed forms to your computer and then upload them.
5. You can click on the link on the Print page or click on the “Upload” tab in your account to upload your forms and e-file them. When you e-file, you will need to pay your filing fees and our e-filing fee of $9.95 online (unless you file a Fee Waiver).
6. Once you have e-filed you will see that your status is “Pending”.
